What makes your training specific to scientists, engineers and technical staff?

 Generic trainings often have irrelevant content, lack guidance for practical application, and fail to address: (1) the mental and emotional transition from individual scientific contributor to manager (2) the complex issue of balancing business needs with scientific exploration, and (3) the challenges of supervising open-ended technical work.

Who should take the Foundations of Management Training?

How long is the training?

  • Our Foundations of Management Training is for 1 hour a week for 11 weeks. There are 6 training sessions held bi-weekly. On the off weeks there are 5 workshops to allow for additional skills building.

  • Our standalone trainings are approximately 2 hours.

Is the training virtual or in-person?

  • Our trainings are virtual and designed to fit within the trainee’s normal schedule with minimal disruption of day-to day responsibilities. The small group cohort model facilitates peer-to-peer interactions for collective learning and integration of concepts.

Do you offer onsite trainings?

  • Yes, we offer onsite trainings for groups of X or more.

How is your training different from other online options?

  • The quality and applicability of self-guided online trainings can vary wildly and new managers are left to sort through the breadth of advice on their own. We have distilled down all the important information we have learned and used over the years to provide effective leadership trainings designed for scientists. We focus on building practical skills that will apply for the entirety of your career. Our training is scaffolded so that new skills progressively build on the ones that came before. You’ll walk away with skills and tools you can immediately use and start building upon.
