Designed to be Short, Engaging and Buildable

This course is designed specifically with scientists, engineers and technical staff in mind. Because that is who we are too.

We walk you through core leadership and management skills, building upon the lessons learned, and provide support and practice along the way to foster successful implementation of the skills learned. You will walk away each week with tools you can immediately use and start to build upon.

This is not a boring virtual training where you find yourself multitasking and drifting. The short 1 hour bi-weekly sessions were designed to be minimaly invasive to attendees normal day-to-day responsibilities.

The Details

Six 90 minute virtual sessions held weekly

  • Designed to fit within trainee’s normal schedule with minimal disruption of day-to-day activities

  • Deep dives into a specific skill that complements the training session

Virtual office hours

  • Optional check-in on anything that comes up during your day-to-day implementation

    • Graduate students and Post Docs who want to set themselves up to take on supervisory roles, learn how to build high-functioning teams, and establish a strong foundation for continued career growth in either industry or academia

  • 90 minutes each week for 6 weeks with optional weekly office hours. Trainings are held virtually to minimize your time away from work while maximizing the lessons learned.

  • There are no make up sessions; however, you will be provided with a workbook for the missed session. In addition, we hold bi-weekly office hours where you can come to ask questions, and there are also bi-weekly workshops to to deep dive into a specific skill that complements the prior training.

  • We aim to keep the cohort size small to facilitate collective learning and target group sizes of no more than 20

  • All cancellations prior to the start of the course will be refunded for credit that can be used towards future trainings. Credits are transferrable within an organization.

  • As scientists ourselves, we have specifically designed our training to meet the needs of scientists, engineers and technical staff. Our induvial trainings are short, just 1 hour, so there is minimal disruption to your work day (and experiments). These are not pre-recorded trainings, they are not all-day exhausting events, nor are they trainings designed by extroverts for extroverts. We designed our trainings to be short, engaging, and buildable. You will walk away each week with tools you can immediately use and start to build upon.  Learning 20 new things all at once is no way to create a sustainable habit.
